Cracks and Creaks – Signs that Your House Needs Underpinning

Your home has a thousand stories to tell, from happy gatherings to quiet reflections. Sometimes, however, your home starts to tell tales of problems. Have you noticed cracks running up your walls, or a door which won’t close properly? This could be an indication that you need to install underpinning, related site!

Cracks in walls are the most obvious evidence. It’s important to pay attention if the cracks are jagged and widening. It sounds like the earth is re-engineering your home. You don’t want your walls to look like abstract artwork, do you?

Windows can also sing the same song. You should be concerned if your sash doesn’t fit properly or if you notice that the frames are separating from the walls. Once I had a good friend who’s window would wobble like a little symphony. It turned out that the ground underneath was shifting and the underpinning saved us.
